forever21 crochet lace white blouse with red lipstick and tortoise sunglasses

“Antes muerta que sencilla,” as my Abuela always says. Translation: sooner dead than simple.  A red lip and a classic white blouse may seem simple, but are timelessly chic when paired together. (Matching nail polish is optional. I’m wearing OPI’s ‘Thrill of Brazil’, to be more specific.)

We spent the weekend in Medellin, Colombia, with a couple of friends, and on this day went for a casual Sunday brunch before heading back home. As LatAm style is much more relaxed than Miami, (aren’t most places? Ha,) I packed understated, versatile pieces for the tropics. I actually wore these WhoWhatWear paperbag pants on the plane – they were one of my fave purchases of 2019. This khaki color is sold out, but they’re still available in the denim version.

White button downs are a wardrobe staple for me, so much so that I’ve lost count of how many are in my closet…but at under $30 this white crochet shirt packs way more style than its price would indicate. I’ve been much more conscious about how I consume fast fashion as of late, but I know I’ll get plenty of wear out of this top… including with high-waisted jeans, shorts, and white skirts for summer. A classic is a classic, no matter the price.
